A grand Antique Edwardian Suffragette ring made Circa 1910. The piece is decorated with a line of gemstones including a large Amethyst (approx. 0.80ct), two Peridots (approx. 0.30ct each) and two lustrous Pearls.
Suffragette jewellery was worn to show one’s allegiance to the women’s Suffragette movement in the early 20th century and popularly consisted of Purple, Green and White stones which symbolised: Purple for Loyalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope.
The stones are all claw set in an lavish Platinum gallery leading into an 18ct Yellow Gold shank. It is an outstanding piece and boasts a wonderful combination of gemstones.
